🌍 Did you know?
According to EU data, 45% of Europeans don’t speak English.
At PDGA Europe, we’ve spent the last 2 years working with 102 communicators from 24 countries to support disc golf media in their own languages — providing funding, training, commentary teams, and help capturing national events. 🎥🎙️
And now… big news!
YouTube has just opened the ability to add multiple audio tracks to videos for millions of creators — not just the biggest channels. 🤯
This means:
• Local creators can now record both local language + English versions of their videos ✅
• Top media like MDG Media (📸 featured) could start offering multilingual commentary to their English videos not just with AI translations, but with many skilled commentary teams across Europe (that would get more visibility + collaboration opportunities) ✅
Professional Disc Golf Association will be testing this soon at the PDGA Latinoamérica Championship in November with Spanish and English audio tracks. 🇪🇸🇬🇧
🎯 And remember:
• Adding French, Spanish, Italian & German reaches 67% of non-English speakers in Europe.
• Adding Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian & Estonian cover 69% of non-English speaking PDGA members.
Let’s keep pushing to make disc golf truly global!
And who knows… maybe multilingual live broadcasts are closer than we think! 🌐💫
